Overview

Introduction

Welcome to the product documentation for Linc Advanced Security, an extension app built for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, by Linc Communications (Pty) Ltd.

This extension contains modifications to the standard solution to add advanced security features to Business Central to simplify access to especially financially sensitive information.

Configuration

To simply limit visibility to financially sensitive information for specific users, specify which areas should be limited by flagging the fields in the user setup table.

Functionality

Limiting G/L Visibility

Switching this on for a user:

• hides amounts and descriptions from the chart of accounts page, g/l entries page, g/l account card
• shows an error when the user attempts to view the following pages: account schedule overview, financial reports, analysis view list, analysis view entries
• shows and erorr when the user attempts to run any report that has any of the following tables anywhere in its datasets: g/l account, g/l entry, g/l register

Limiting Bank Visibility

Switching this on for a user:

• hides amounts and descriptions from the bank account card page, bank account ledger entry page, bank account list page
• shows an error when the user attempts to view the following pages: bank account balance, bank account statistics, bank account statement list, bank account reconciliation list
• shows and erorr when the user attempts to run any report that has any of the following tables anywhere in its datasets: bank account, bank account ledger entry, bank account statement

Easily navigate object permissions

This app also provides visibility to object permissions by role/permission set by exposing the Object Permission table through a page.
