Restrictions on Payment Journals
Use this guide to verify that payment journal restrictions are correctly enforced.
Outcome
After this guide:
- Subscription-dependent checks are active.
- Direct transfer limits are configured.
- Users can confirm restriction behavior before go-live.
Before You Start
- Confirm your app subscription is active.
- Confirm payment bank accounts have intended direct transfer limits.
- Prepare a non-production test journal batch.
Step 1: Confirm Subscription is Active
- Open setup pages affected by the extension.
- Confirm no inactive-subscription warning blocks features.
Pass criteria:
- Restricted features are available.
Step 2: Set Direct Transfer Limits
- Open Bank Account Card for each bank used in payment journals.
- Set Direct Tfr. Batch Limit according to policy.
- Save changes.
Pass criteria:
- All payment bank accounts have approved transfer limits.
Step 3: Validate Restriction Behavior with Test Data
- Create one payment journal batch within configured limits.
- Run the relevant process and confirm it succeeds.
- Create a second test that exceeds the limit or violates configured rules.
- Confirm the process is blocked with a clear validation message.
Pass criteria:
- Allowed actions succeed.
- Disallowed actions are blocked.
Step 4: Confirm User Readiness
- Ensure finance users know which actions are blocked by design.
- Capture internal support guidance for expected validation messages.
Pass criteria:
- Users understand normal behavior and error paths.

The setup is complete when all checks below are true:
- Subscription checks are active.
- Direct transfer limits are configured per bank account.
- Positive and negative test scenarios were executed.
